Get a Kit
Emergency preparedness would be a
piece of cake if disasters occurred only between the hours of 5 p.m. and
7 a.m., a time period when most of us are safely ensconced behind the
walls and doors of our homes, surrounded by our loved ones.
Unfortunately, reality never resembles anything quite so convenient.
Nothing puts a parent on edge quite like the announcement of a major
emergency situation during the school day. You may be miles away from
your child’s school located on the other side of town. While your
child’s teachers are well-educated in academic subjects, most of them
may have no little or no experience in disaster preparation and
response, except the ones who exercise some forethought and have one of
our classroom emergency kits stashed in a classroom closet
http://www.areyouprepared.com/Classroom-Emergency-Kit-p/20102.htm.
Otherwise, include one of our
http://www.areyouprepared.com/School-Survival-Kit-s/64.htm kits in your
child’s backpack for those times when you might be unavailable, either
in the classroom or on the schoolbus. At a minimum, having a drink of
water and an energy bar while wrapped in an emergency blanket will give
your boy or girl a sense of security in an unfamiliar situation. These
kits provide basic preparation articles, but you can round them out by
including additional items of your choice.
Your child is usually under the direct supervision of other adults
somewhat able to meet their needs and keep them safe during the acute
phases of an emergency. You, on the other hand, may find yourself
falling back on your own resources for hours or even a couple of days.
Keeping one of our
http://www.areyouprepared.com/Office-Survival-Kit-s/65.htm office kits
at your workplace will provide you with at least some measure of comfort
and safety.
The http://www.areyouprepared.com/Deluxe-Survival-Bottle-p/20107.htm all
fits inside a water bottle and fits into a desk drawer, suitable for
sitting out a temporary emergency lasting a few hours. A

deluxe fanny pack kit may be something good to have stowed away in case
you find yourself having to walk home if the roads are blocked and
public transit is not available.
Preparedness-minded employers will breathe a bit easier if they have one
or more of our
http://www.areyouprepared.com/20-Person-Survival-Kit-p/ez20.htm or our
http://www.areyouprepared.com/100-Person-Survival-Kit-p/ez100.htm office
kits on hand, enough to keep your staff reasonably safe and comfortable
during an emergency of short duration. It also includes a few basic
tools for opening jammed doors and ensuring a modicum of sanitation.
Your home is your castle and should be your first line of defense during
an emergency. There are times when you and your family may have to
leave your home and seek shelter elsewhere or large portions of the
house have been damaged. Have one of our
http://www.areyouprepared.com/Home-Survival-Kit-s/23.htm kits on hand
for each person in the household. These also make good gifts for friends
and family who’ve devoted little thought to taking care of themselves
during a disaster.
“One size fits all” never does. You can custom-tailor our

to fit your individual needs and requirements.
